![]() ![]() Possibly fixed Invincibility glitch in Monastery map. Fixed an issue that caused ability damage to be calculated wrongly post player death if certain rings were equipped. Corpses now disappear after 5 minutes, greatly reducing stutter on some machines. Bleak Faith: Forsaken, a new soulslike game from Archangel, has been accused of plagiarizing animations from FromSoftware Games, especially Elden Ring. Anyway, looking forward to seeing how the game progresses, at $27 I'd say it's a solid buy, and should only improve from here.Įdit: Hell while I was typing this they released a small patch. There are many divulging paths to explore all over the place, feels a little overwhelming at least for me early on. Stamina management seems very much key, I found myself running out of it a lot. I do like how you have to time your shots so you swing more quickly, definitely no button mashing here. I can't tell if the combat is difficult, if I just haven't quite figured it out yet, or if there's something not right with the hitboxes, could be a combination but something hasn't exactly clicked with me yet. I've only encountered one boss so far and it took me way more tries than I would have liked. ![]() The kb/m controls feel pretty good, camera control with the mouse particularly so. Well, the game definitely needs some polish but I like a lot of what I'm seeing here. There are a lot of vendors for various parts of video games, from music, sfx, mocap and all sorts of objects, you can find them and pay to save time on a project. Then again it could also just be that Fromsoft actually licensed that same mocap data from the same third party for their games first. Now that it has hit the net I am sure Fromsoft is looking through the game to see if they can prove it is their data or not. But till there is actual proof or litigation comes out that something like that occurred I would hold off on any speculation. That also applies if they bought the data from which the provider of the data stole the mocap data from fromsoft which would be a big pain for the game developer as they would have to stop sales and redo all the animations they bought from that vendor. The only way this becomes a copyright violation is if they illegally used fromsoft's data without fromsoft's knowledge. In 2019, both a PS4 line-up trailer released by Sony Japan and a No More Heroes 3 trailer were accused of plagiarizing animations. If they bought a license to use a pack of mocap data they are well within their rights to use it as they see fit that is in no way ethically immoral or plagiarism. It’s rare to see a commercial gaming product accused of reusing animations, but it has happened in the past. ![]() Over the weekend, a Twitter user accused Bleak Faith’s perk icons to be AI-generated, and Archangel Studios explained that the use of AI-generated images was “somewhat of an oversight” and that the studio would redo them. About 10% of the total game art is from there.” The marketplace was used to fill in generic art and was still edited to fit in the general needs of the art direction. Roia continued: “We're willing to rework things if there's something amiss going on in the marketplace but we've received no notification from Epic and we too are their customers. Any other question or concern should be taken up with Epic themselves.” "We've heard this comment before, but you can buy the animations yourself if you want as they are publicly available and have been for a long time. ![]()
